Ride Towards Independence
Adaptive riding lessons that build strength, confidence, and freedom
More Than a Lesson–A Journey.
We provide therapeutic horseback riding sessions for children and adults with special needs in a nurturing, faith-centered environment. Our adaptive lessons are designed to build horsemanship skills, encourage communication, and strengthen meaningful connections between riders, volunteers, and peers. Each session offers powerful physical and emotional benefits, including improved balance and flexibility, enhanced confidence and self-esteem, regulated muscle tone, and greater social engagement.
We offer lessons at an affordable rate, with full and partial scholarships available for families in need. New riders can begin the registration process by following the steps below to learn more, submit required forms, and get connected with our team.

Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart of our program. Each horse and rider requires three volunteers, one in the front and two on either side to ensure safety and communication. Volunteers will help groom and tack horses, lead horses during lessons, and facilitating games and classes. No prior horse experience is required—just a heart to serve and a willingness to learn.
Volunteers typically serve 2–4 hours per week during our eight-week sessions, offered fall, winter, and spring. This is a hands-on opportunity to support therapeutic riding, build relationships, and make a real impact.
